200,000 water meters to be installed in 2007

Azersu chair Nizamaddin Rzayev said 137,679 water meters were installed for population.

"The metering process has continued to progress in Binagadi, Nasimi and Narimanov. We are planning install some 100,000 meters this year. However, depending on the conditions, we can even install between 150,000 and 200,000 meters," he added.

Rzayev said some made illegal access to water supply system and over 1,000 unauthorized connections were cut.

Azersu spent AZN 8.4mln on rehabilitation works in 2006. It is planned to spend AZN 10mln this year. APA-Economics
