Azerbaijan's oil sector delights with huge investment

Some 2.96 billion manats was invested in Azerbaijan's oil sector in the first half of 2014.

This figure is 31.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2013, Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee said.

Over 4.82 billion manats were invested in the country's oil sector in 2013, which is 24.2 percent more compared to 2012.

The Statistics Committee also said the total volume of investment made in Azerbaijan's industrial sector amounted to 3.58 billion manats in January-June, which is 6.9 percent more compared to the same period of 2013.

Some 2.95 billion manats of these funds was invested in the mining industry, and this figure is 30.1 percent more than compared to the same period of 2013.

The investment made in production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and heat in the first half of 2014 amounted to 140.9 million manats, which is 16.2 percent more than the same period of 2013.
