“SOCAR Gas Georgia” builts around 100 kilometers long gas pipeline in Western Georgia

Georgia's Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze and the representatives of Azerbaijani company "SOCAR Gas Georgia" examined the process of gasification in the Chagani village of Samtred region (Imereti region, Western Georgia).

SOCAR conducted gasification of several villages simultaneously in the Right Bank of Rioni.
As Georgia's Energy Ministry reported on Monday, it is planned to construct a 100 kilometers long gas pipeline, which will facilitate the connection of around 4,500 potential users to the network. The work will be completed till the end of the year.

According to the joint plan of Georgia's Energy Ministry and the company's gas distributors, over 86,000 families in Georgia will be provided with gas to the end of 2014.

Additional 252 villages will be gasified and around tens of million lari will be invested in creation of new infrastructure.

It should be noted that, SOCAR provides the population with payment by installments for connection to the overall network.
