Ukraine proposes Azerbaijan to refine oil at its refineries upon a toll manufacturing scheme, Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Eduard Stavitsky said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natiq Aliyev today.

It is planned to refine oil at the refinery in Odessa and Kremenchug.

"We still have the pipeline, which works for the Kremenchug refinery and we can supply oil through it in case of an agreement," Stavitsky said.

He said that at present, Ukraine's task is to fully restore the refining industry, and, in this regard, there is a need not only to supply oil, but to diversify it.

Stavitsky added that Ukraine is ready to consider its participation in the development of infrastructural projects for energy supplies to Europe, in particular, in such projects as TANAP and AGRI.

Ukraine is ready to consider the possibility of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of reconstruction of hydroelectric power stations, as Ukraine has great experience in this field.

According to Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy, Azerbaijan and Ukraine had the fruitful cooperation. The relations between the countries, in particular, in the field of economy have been developing rapidly during independence period.

"Power engineering is the foundation of our relations, Azerbaijani minister said. "We helped and we are ready to continue assisting Ukraine with oil and oil products."

He added that only Azerbaijan and Ukraine have such a body as the Council of Presidents. It is expected that the Azerbaijani President will visit Ukraine by the end of the year.
