SOCAR opens new well in Caspian Sea

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has put into operation a new gas condensate well in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said on Thursday.

According to the report, the well was commissioned from the "Gunashli-6" platform, which is on the balance of "28 May" Oil and Gas Department.

Daily yield of the well is 160,000 cubic meters of gas and 15 tons of condensate.

SOCAR develops deepwater part of the "Guneshli" field in the consortium with foreign companies within the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil and gas fields' block.

SOCAR includes production association Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea) and Production Association Azerkimya (chemical industry), production association Azerigas (gas distribution).
