IMF hails Azerbaijan's efforts to maintain economic stability

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev has today met a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Mustafayev briefed the delegation on Azerbaijan`s economic indicators for 9 months of 2012, saying all sectors of the national economy, particularly the non-oil sector recorded rapid development.

He highlighted the country`s industrialization policy, as well as projects implemented in agriculture, ICT, transportation, tourism, alternative and renewable energy. The Minister noted the role of the private sector in economic development.

Head of the IMF mission to Azerbaijan Raja Almarzogi hailed the measures taken in Azerbaijan to maintain economic stability and ensure rapid economic development. They discussed forecasts for 2013, as well as the issue of increasing the share of the non-oil sector in GDP.
