Azerbaijan boosts ties with China's Huawei Technologies

Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan will strengthen cooperation with China's Huawei Technologies, the ministry said on Friday.

Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov and founder and CEO of Huawei Technologies Ren Zhengfei discussed the aspects of cooperation between the two sides, the ministry said.

The Deputy Minister presented the current status of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan, the statistics of the sector and the prospects for further development.

Production associations Baku Telephone and Aztelekom, as well as mobile operators are the main purchasers of telecommunications equipment of Huawei Technologies in Azerbaijan.

Currently, the Chinese equipment vendor is used to extend NGN (Next generation Network) in the public telephone network, expanding coverage of wireless CDMA networks.
