Oil and gas sector attractive for FDI in Azerbaijan

The volume of foreign investment in Azerbaijan's economy has increased by 36.8 percent this year compared to the same period last year to hit $4.7 billion, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.

The country received some 29.7 percent of investment as financial loans.

The volume of FDI has increased by 26.9 percent compared to the first half of 2011 to reach $2.2 billion.
