SOCAR signs development memorandum in Georgia

The regional administration of Kvemo Kartli in Georgia, which is heavily populated by ethnic Azerbaijanis, and SOCAR have signed a memorandum of cooperation on Thursday.

The document was signed in Rustavi by Governor of the Georgian region David Kirkitadze and president of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, who was in Rustavi.

According to the agreement, the Azeri company is willing to take part in the development of regional agricultural infrastructure, irrigation systems settling in the villages of the region. SOCAR is also ready to take part in the rehabilitation of schools and kindergartens in the region, providing them with modern infrastructure.

It should be noted that an active process of gasification is being implemented at the region, which is also carried out by SOCAR.

SOCAR carries out commercial projects in many countries, Rovnag Abdullayev told Trend.

"We always feel a social responsibility before those countries in which we operate. Kvemo Kartli - a large region, and we are in the first place will assist in the development of infrastructure of schools and kindergartens, as well as the construction of irrigation systems," he said.
