Backlog in industrial sector cuts in Azerbaijan

In January-July, 2012, this year, AZN 20.3 bn-products were produced in industrial sector of Azerbaijan, including works of individuals, down 2.8% compared to last year.

The State Statistical Committee says production in non-oil sector grew by 7.3%, while production in oil sector dropped 4.7%.

76.8% of industrial production was in mining field, 17.9% – in processing sphere, 4.8% - in electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply section, 0.5% - in water supply, waste treatment and processing.

During the reporting period, production of food production rose 4.1%, drinking – 8.7%, the production of weaving industry products doubled, clothes products – 31%, Polygraphy - doubled, rubber and plastic – 3.1 times, construction materials – 25%, metallurgy – 12.4%, finished metal production- 1.8 times, computers and other e-equipments – 1.6 times, electrical equipments – 2.5 times, other transport facilities – 14.2%, furniture – 3.2 times, machinery and equipment installation and repair – 2.3%.
