Azerbaijan joins MONEYVAL plenary session in France

Azerbaijan`s delegation led by Chairman of State Committee for Securities Rufat Aslanli has participated in the 39th plenary session of the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (Moneyval) in Strasbourg, France.

The Azeri delegation presented a report at the event.

The Expert Committee acknowledged the progress of Azerbaijan in the implementation of recommendations and adopted a decision on abolishing formal report regime to the country.
Azerbaijan was appointed as a reporter on legal issues relating to the second report on the progress in Moldova at the 40th plenary meeting of Moneyval.

MONEYVAL`s evaluations are more focused and primarily follow up the recommendations made in the 3rd round. Evaluation teams in examine key, core and other important Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations, as well as Recommendations which were previously rated "non compliant" or "partially compliant" in the 3rd round report.

Evaluations are complemented by issues linked to the Directive 2005/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2005 on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing in accordance with MONEYVAL`s terms of reference.
