FAO to open regional office in Baku

Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov has today received the mission led by Special Adviser to Director General of United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) Mohamad Ruigi.

The main purpose of the visit – hold discussions with related state bodies of Azerbaijan in relation to opening of FAO’s Coordination Office in Baku.

The Minister noted the high level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and FAO. Abasov added that Azeri President personally supported the initiative of opening of FAO Coordination Office in Baku.

In turn M.Ruigi appreciated the support of President of Azerbaijan as a contribution to efforts to global food security. He expressed the hope that the work will be completed by the opening of the office until the end of this year.
