Talks on second European Games held with three countries

At present, the talks on holding the second European Games are underway with three countries, Patrick Hickey, the head of the European Olympic Committee, said at a final press-conference, dedicated to the first European Games, June 28.

“The negotiations on holding the second European Games in 2019 are underway with three countries,” he said.

"The two countries agreed to hold the third European Games in 2023," he said.

The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.

More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
