29 January 2010 [09:45] - TODAY.AZ
With the new MoU, the number of existing transportation points with Bulgaria has risen to four from two.
Turkish Minister of Transportation Binali Yildirim said Thursday the transportation ministries of Turkey and Bulgaria had the common goal of establishing a liberalized market in transportation between the two countries.

Turkish and Bulgarian Joint Committee on Transportation signed a protocol and a memorandum of understanding in Ankara on Thursday.

"We have lifted boundaries in cargo transportation with Bulgaria. The first liberalized market took place in the area of air cargo," Yildirim said.

With the new MoU, the number of existing transportation points with Bulgaria has risen to four from two and the number of frequencies went up to 35 from 14.

Bulgarian Minister of Transportation, Alexander Tsvetkov, said that the protocol signed today will deepen relations between Turkey and Bulgaria.

The existing commercial relations with Turkey do not reflect the actual potential available, Tsvetkov also said.

The trade volume between Turkey and Bulgaria was around 2.3 billion USD in 2009.
