Syrian govt gives o.k to ceasefire in Aleppo

The Syrian government supports a Russian-US plan for a regional ceasefire in the embattled northern city of Aleppo, dpa reported.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem says he has asked his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, for help to secure a truce in the city that is witnessing fierce battles for control between rival Islamist groups and government forces.
