Turkey writes off Kyrgyzstan's external debt in the amount of $49.2 million,theĀ  Kyrgyz Finance Ministry reports. Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev attended the signing ceremony of the debt write-off agreement on Thursday.

Kyrgyz written-off debt was formed according to the two countries' intergovernmental protocol of intentions of April 28, 1992 and Credit Agreement between Kyrgyz National Bank and Export Credit Bank of Turkey of Jan.15, 1993. The debt was aimed to finance several investment projects.
