Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, "We expect the Israeli Foreign Ministry to take the necessary steps now."

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said about recent attitude of Israel against the Turkish Ambassador in Tel Aviv, "no one can dare to disrespect the Turkish Ambassador."

Davutoglu, who is currently paying a working visit to London, told reporters at the Dochester Hotel, "there can be differences of opinion between the countries. States can also criticize policies pursued by others. But there are diplomatic c ourtesy and rules, and all countries are obliged to abide by them."

"We expect the Israeli Foreign Ministry to take the necessary steps now. Our attitude is clear and it is our right to expect Israel to abide by the diplomatic courtesy and rules. Any violation of those diplomatic rules is, actually, against the ethics of the current international relations," he said.

Davutoglu told reporters, "the Israeli Ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier today. The undersecretary of the Ministry explained Turkey's expectations by showing full respect to the Ambassador. No one can dare to disrespect Turkish ambassador."

Turkish Ambassador in Tel Aviv, Oguz Celikkol, was summoned to the Israeli Foreign Ministry on Monday by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon to criticize a Turkish television drama. During the meeting, Ayalon refused to shake the Ambassador's hand.

Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement earlier on Tuesday calling on Israel "to abide by diplomatic courtesy and respect." "Turkey is expecting steps to repair the treatment of our Ambassador in Tel Aviv," the statement said.
