US President Barack Obama arrived in St Petersburg Thursday for a gathering of the world's 20 largest economies, dpa reported.
Obama flew to Russia from Stockholm, where he met with Nordic leaders after a spat with Russian President Vladimir Putin prompted a cancellation of a planned bilateral meeting between the leaders.
Obama is to argue for international support of a US military strike against Syria despite stiff opposition fro Putin.
