Early morning today in Iran's Varzegan city of country's East Azerbaijan province an earthquake occured, Fars reported.

According to the latest reports, 51 people got injured as a result of the 5.1 magnitude quake. Most of the injured ones are school children.

Earlier reports claimed only 30 people were injured. Thus far, there are no reports on the possible dead.

Five of 51 injured people were taken to hospital in Tebriz city, due to their heavy condition.

The reports say the quake did not ruin any houses, yet the walls inside the houses cracked.

East Azerbaijan province has been hit with a devastating earthquake on August 11, as a result of which 306 people were dead and over 3,000 got injured.

That earthquake also imposed some 11 trillion rials (about $900 million) loss on industry, agriculture, and service sectors of the country, according to local officials.
