An experiment carried out on laboratory mice by researchers at Amir Kabir University of Technology using neodymium 140 to destroy cancer cells has been successful, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reports.

Researchers at Amir Kabir's Department of Nuclear Engineering and Physics say neodymium 140 doesn't destroy healthy tissue near cancerous cells and could be used to treat small tumours. This is because the intensity of radiation with neodymium 140 is less than Iodine 125 which is used in radiation therapy.
