President Aliyev congratulates "Bakinski Rabochiy"'s editorial staff

According to AzerTAg, the message says that "founded in 1906, the newspaper has always occupied a special place among Azerbaijan's most influential publications, and been distinguished by its own principles and stance. Always trying to meet the people's need for information it has won its own devoted audience."

"All aspects of the political, economic, social and cultural life in Azerbaijan, the problems people concern, and, generally, all topical issues have always been in the spotlight of the newspaper. As a brilliant pattern of the Russian language press, the "Bakinski rabochiy" worthily represented our country and people in the former USSR area."

"Today, amongst Azerbaijan's numerous media outlets, the "Bakinski rabochiy" has its own place, style and principles. Realities of the independent Azerbaijan - the sound moral and psychological atmosphere, ongoing socio-political processes, and the purposeful work towards creating civil solidarity and national unity in the country are covered by the newspaper objectively and without bias.

"I believe that remaining committed to its principles, the editorial staff of the "Bakinski rabochiy" will demonstrate high professionalism, objectiveness and civil stance while providing Azerbaijan's realities to the local and international community, and worthily continue our people's progressive traditions of press under new conditions."

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the "Bakinski rabochiy", President signed an executive order to provide AZN 10.000 aid to the newspaper. The order assigns the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure transfer of the amount from the State Budget (2006) to the newspaper's bank account.

President also signed an executive order to award the medal "Taraggi" (Progress) to a group of employees of the newspaper.
