Azerbaijan will be represented at the XXX Minsk International "Listapad" Film Festival, held under the slogan "Quality Mark Cinema," from November 1 to 8 in Minsk, Azernews reports.

The jubilee film festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinema and the 30th anniversary of the festival itself.

Azerbaijan is represented by Cavid ?mamverdiyev, a producer, director, and screenwriter, who serves as the chair of the jury for the "Youth Cinema" competition. He will be joined by Domeniko Lukkini, a director and documentary producer from Switzerland, and Belarusian director Kirill Khaletski to evaluate the films.

The festival has already received over 2,200 applications from 112 countries. Audiences will be presented with seven competition programs featuring the best films from around the world.

This year, the "Listapad" film festival proudly announces the return of two competitions. The national competition will showcase 23 films created by talented Belarusian directors, while the national film school competition will feature 15 selected works by students from leading film universities.

The main feature film competition will present 18 films from 24 countries, including the drama "Everything That Looks Light to Us" by Indian director Payal Kapadia, which received the Grand Prix at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

In the documentary film category, 12 works from 7 countries will compete for the main awards. Animation masterpieces will also have their place at the festival, with 50 films from 24 countries showcased in this category.

Additionally, the "Youth Cinema" competition will feature 11 films from 17 countries, offering new perspectives for self-discovery and family connection. This direction reflects the unlocking of young talents' potential and the unification of countries in 2024.

For young audiences, there will be the "Listapadzik" competition, showcasing 8 films from 6 countries. This segment will present new screen works aimed at children and young adults. The competition will also include the premiere of "The Sirin Bird: Wings of Slavic Legends," produced by the "Belarusfilm" national film studio.
