Baku Metro prepares new innovations

Earlier, Baku Metro management eyed the issue of installing air conditioners to the existing cars, but now the administration plans to purchase new cars with air conditioners,  Spokesperson for Baku Metro Nazakat Tanriverdiyeva said.

"We plan to purchase new cars with air conditioners. According to the state program, new subway cars will be purchased today for use on new subway lines in 2012-2015," she said.

In turn, Baku Metro chief engineer Humay Humbatov said that Baku Metro plans to realize an important innovation - the installation of protective fencing.
 
" Glass fences are expected to be installed on the platforms to separate it from the tracks. We plan to install glass barriers at the metro stations such as the, Avtovakzal, Memar Ecemi, Hazi Aslanov, etc. Such barriers are installed in the metros around the world. This innovation is aimed to protect the passengers from the fall to the lines,” he said.
