Turkey's exports in April up 25.45 p.c.

Turkey's exports in April were up 25.45 percent when compared to the same term last year and was recorded as 11.79 billion USD, according to the figures of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM).

Head of TIM, Mehmet Buyukeksi, announced export figures for April in a press conference held at the Anatolian Hotel in south-eastern province of Gaziantep on Sunday.

According to TIM, Turkey's exports between January and April, 2011 were up 22.21 percent when compared to the same period last year and was recorded as 43.26 billion USD.

In the last 12 months, Turkey's exports were up 15.48 percent and was recorded as 121.84 billion USD.

In April, most of the exports came from the automotive industry which amounted to 1.7 billion USD while chemical substances industry followed with 1.6 billion USD and the steel sector with 1.4 billion USD.
