Iran, Austria companies ink $2B deals

Iranian and Austrian private sector companies signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) worth more than $2 billion on March 31.

The signed MOUs include eight documents in automobile and steel industries, medicine and engineering services, IRNA reported April 1.

The documents were signed in presence of Iran’s Head of Commerce Chamber Mohsen Jalalpour and Head of Austria’s Federal Chamber of Commerce Christophe Leitl.

An Iranian trade delegation of 110 members headed to Austria to visit industrial and service centers, get familiar with management techniques and meet officials and counterparts there on March 29.

Meanwhile, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani postponed his two-day visit to Austria indefinitely for security reasons on March 29.
