Turkish opposition opts for Aya Sofya mosque than museum

Aya Sofia museum in Istanbul should function as a mosque,the Deputy Chairman of the Turkish oppositional Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), a member of the country's parliament, Yusuf Halacoglu said, Haber7 TV Channel reported on November 18.
According to him, there are forces in Turkey that do not want Aya Sofia Museum to function as a mosque.

Earlier it was reported that the Deputy Chairman of the Turkish oppositional Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Yusuf Halacoglu made a proposal to restore the mosque status of Aya Sofia.

According to the report, in order to restore the mosque status, a corresponding appeal was made to the Turkish parliament.

Earlier, another opposition party of Turkey - Grand Unity Party - also proposed to return the mosque status to Aya Sofia.
