Erdogan determined on Gaza visit

Requests from the US will not delay the Turkish PM's trip to the Gaza Strip, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, TRT Haber reported on Tuesday.

"U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry should not have advised me against going to Gaza. The visit will not be rescheduled or postponed," Erdogan said.

Speaking earlier at a press conference in Istanbul, where Kerry is attending a meeting of foreign ministers at the Friends of Syria Group, he stressed that it would be better if Prime Minister Erdogan postpones his visit to Gaza.

It is expected that Erdogan will visit the Gaza Strip on May 16 after an official visit to the United States.
