31 January 2013 [09:39] - TODAY.AZ
The development plan of the Karoun petrochemical project in Iran will be implemented costing 234 million euros, the Shana News Agency quoted Karoun Petrochemical Company's managing director Mehran Banazadeh as saying.

He added that the plant is projected to produce 40,000 tons of MDI annually, which is important for use in paint and resin production. The domestic need to MDI is about 25,000 tons, he noted.
In September 2012, the managing director of the Karoun Oil and Gas Company stated that the largest crude oil desalination plant in the Middle East will be inaugurated next year in Iran.

The plant will have the capacity of desalinating 220,000 barrels of oil per day, Mohsen Dehanzadeh said.

Construction operations are 40 per cent complete, he said, adding that some 700 required parts have been domestically made.

Dehanzadeh said in April that the company produced 1.042 million barrels per day (mbpd) of crude oil in the past calendar year which ended on March 19, showing a 5000 barrel per day increase compared to the year before.

The Mehr news agency quoted him as saying that some 20.7 million cubic meters of oil associated natural gas was also produced last year.
