US downs humanitarian aid to Yerevan

 In January - November 2012, Armenia received $ 55.9 million of humanitarian aid. It was informed at the press service of the National Statistical Service, in comparison with the same period in 2010, the humanitarian aid has been reduced by about $2.5 million or 2.9%, APA reports quoting news.am.

The humanitarian aid from the United States has been sharply decreased: in 2012, $12.4 million was received compared to $ 21.1 million in the same period of the previous year. In 2012, the European Union has sent to Armenia about $12 million of aid, an increase compared to the previous year by 13.4%.

Humanitarian aid is mainly reduced on medications: compared to $22.4 million from last year, for 11 months of 2012, medication of $ 16.5 million was received. Instead the number of vehicles provided as aid has increased almost twice - $12.1 million, compared with $6.4 million in 2011. This growth is mainly due to buses, imported from China.
