Court investigation on case of Ali Insanov and 10 more defendants ends

Trial on case of former Health Minister Ali Insanov and ten more defendants accused of embezzlement, abuse of power and bribery continued in the second part of the day at Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes.

The sitting is presided over by Judge Faig Gasimov, APA reports.

The judge announced the answer to the inquiry on privatization of establishments of the Health Ministry sent to the Economic Development Ministry.

Following this, Agaveys Shahverdi, lawyer for Ali Insanov petitioned for calling the officers of Economic Development Ministry to the court. The lawyer's petition was dismissed.

Agaveys Shahverdi also asked to hold ambulatory expert examination on privatization. This petition was also dismissed.

Following this, Ali Insanov asked time for announcing extra proofs. The judge dismissed his petition accusing him of impeding the trial.

Yunis Veliyev, lawyer for Zinyet Kerimova, mother-in-law of former Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev petitioned for ending the court investigation. The petition was granted and public prosecutor Kamran Aliyev asked the court time to prepare for his speech.

The public prosecutor was given time to prepare for his speech until April 5.
