Mikael Minasyan, former Armenian ambassador to the Vatican and son-in-law of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan, has published an open letter in *Le Journal du Dimanche* addressed to Emmanuel Macron.
In his message, he criticizes the French president’s visit
to Armenia, describing it as a political gesture that could influence domestic
dynamics ahead of elections and expressing concern over the situation of
displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minasyan also presents his interpretation of the region’s
historical narrative, which he contrasts with what he sees as prevailing
political narratives in Yerevan.
The publication has drawn attention as part of ongoing
debates over Armenia’s internal politics, regional history, and the role of
external actors in the South Caucasus.
