Paralyzed Turkish student wanted to help himself, but helped millions of others…

If you want, you can always find a solution to even the most difficult problems. The main thing is to want to do something. And that something is exactly what Turkish student Giray Ozcan did.

According to Turkish media, right side of Ozcan’s body got paralyzed when he was just 5 years old. But he did not succumb to the disease, searching for a way out of the situation to live like normal people. The era of technologies proved helpful. So, he decided to become an engineer.

It was hard for him to study, because unlike his fellow students, paralyzed Giray could not work properly with the computer which was an inseparable part of his education. And Giray decided to create a special mouse the control of which does not require a physical contact.

After several months of hard work, he finally created a mouse, which is controlled by the eye blink. Giray "turned” a simple web-camera into infrared, and using the Matlap program, controlled it with his eyes' movement. It turned out that this invention will help not only Giray with his half body paralysed, but also other people with the same incurable disease.
