
In late 2011, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to launch a three-dimensional geophysical study on Babak prospective structure, SOCAR First Vice President for Geology, Geophysics and Mining Khoshbakht Yusifzade said on Thursday.
He said the work will be conducted from the geophysical vessel called "Gilavar" which is to return to Azerbaijan after operating abroad.
SOCAR estimates that reserves of perspective Babek field will yield 400 billion cubic meters of gas and 80 million tons of condensate. The exact reserves will be identified following the results of exploratory drilling works.
