Baku, Chania to launch charter flight

Greece's Kalamaki Travel in cooperation with Azerbaijan's Khazar Travel, Improtex Travel and Silk Way Travel companies triggered an opening of a charter flight between Baku and Chania, Crete, Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ionnas Metaxas said at the press conference.

Prior to the conference the participants saw a video featuring Greece's tourism opportunities and an interview of Greek Prime Minister Georgios Papandreu to CNN.

Shirzad Efendiyev, Director General of Silk Way Travel, said the project is being realized under the patronage of the Azeri and Greek governments. The direct charter air communication between Baku and Chania will be launched on July 3 and operate on Saturdays.
