
By 2015, Azerbaijan's oil production will reach 60 million tons per year, and gas - 35-40 billion cubic meters, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev said at an international scientific conference entitled "New technologies in oil and gas production".
In 2009, Azerbaijan produced 50.4 million tons of oil or six million tons more than in 2008, he said.
In 2009, the volume of gas production totaled 23.7 billion cubic meters or 286 million cubic meters more than in 2008.
According to the program of development of oil fields "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli", operations on the project enter a new phase, Abdullayev said.
Currently, preparations to implement Chirag oil project aimed to increase oil production on the field, is underway.
