Head of Azerbaijan Banks Association: "Azerbaijan turned out to be better prepared for the crisis than all other regional countries"

The impact of the global financial crisis on Azerbaijan is insignificant due to the correct economic policy of the country", said president of the Azerbaijan Banks Association Eldar Ismaylov at a meeting with the banking community of the country.

He said the world crisis, which started from the financial sector and already having a negative influence on the real sector, is a main object of discussions of the global banking community. "Last week I attended an annual session of the European Banking Association in Brussels and there we also discussed the ways out of the crisis", said Ismaylov.

"Special attention through the past 15 years in Azerbaijan was paid to the development of the non-oil sector and economic strengthening. The recent situation shows that Azerbaijan is better prepared for the crisis than all other countries of the region", added  Ismaylov.
