The Caucasus Tea-growers Congress has been held in the Azerbaijani capital.

The congress participants discussed problems of the sphere in the Caucasus region, among which are the expansion of production, export and raising foreign investments.
Numerous guests familiarized with the tea traditions of the participating states, including Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan.
Only private sector tea-growers, including Azerchay, Maryam, Pasha, Final, are taking part in the congress so far. State companies will further join them.
The participants noted that when investments are raised tea will be grown in empty lands with use of new technologies.
According to vice president of tea company Akif Askerov, the US irrigation technique to create necessary microclimate will be installed at the plantations.
