02 May 2007 [14:16] - TODAY.AZ
Today trial on case of president of Barmek Azerbaijan Electricity Distribution LLC Huseyn Arabul and six more company officials, who are accused of abuse of power, embezzlement and negligence of court judgements, continued at the Court of Grave Crimes.

Huseyn Arabul said that he does not feel well. Following this, Tafig Alalahverdiyev, lawyer for Valeh Zeynalov protested to the court composition, grounding that the court did not commute the decision on Zeynalov's arrest because of his disease. The court did not consider the petition, APA reports.

Arabul said that he underwent eye examination and presented the hospital inquiry with regard to his surgery on May 3. Lawyer Abbas Atakishi petitioned for Arabul's leaving for Turkey in connection with his disease and personal business by May 7.

The court rejected the petition grounding that Arabul's leaving the country will impede the trial. Arabul petitioned for summonsing 44 Turkish and 54 Azerbaijani citizens. The petition was rejected.

The process will continue in the second half of the day.
