Negotiations between Azerbaijan and Georgia governments took place in Tbilisi

The delegation led by first deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Abbas Abbasov was in an official visit in Tbilisi. The delegation met Georgian Prime minister Zurab Nogaideli.
Azerbaijani officials who attended the meeting refused to inform about the details of the meeting to Georgia bureau of APA, they told that it is up to first deputy Prime Minister Abbas Abbasov only.

According to the information given to Georgia bureau of APA from the sources in the State Stationary, the problem concerning the control of Georgia over nearly 110 km air space of Azerbaijan and other issues were discussed in the talks. The Azerbaijani side stated, our country will control this area itself as it has corresponding technical equipment in the negotiations. Abbas Abbasov and Zurab Nogaideli met in private for 15 minutes after the negotiations ended.

Abbas Abbasov informed the local and foreign journalists about the details of the meeting after the talks. He told that, the issues to be discussed in the sitting of Azerbaijan-Georgia inter-governmental economic commission in Ganja on 18 July were agreed in the negotiations.

“We shall discuss a number of economical issues of mutual importance, as well as issues concerning transport, trade turnover, energy, energy resources   in Ganja. We are going to hold great business forum displaying the products made in Georgia in Baku on 19 July. The businessmen, entrepreneurs led by Prime Minister Zurab Nogaidely will attend this forum.

Georgian delegation will be met in Baku in high level, will be received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Arthur Rasizade”. Abbas Abbasov responded to the question on returning the control over the 110 km of air space to Azerbaijan from Georgia. According to him, there is no problem for the flight of airplanes of Georgia in the air space of Azerbaijan and such problem will not appear in future.

Responding to the question of Georgia bureau of APA “Georgia announced that it will not purchase the motor petrol of Azerbaijan because its octane doesn’t meet European standards, did you discus this matter in the talks?”, Abbas Abbasov told that he will not be able to discuss the quality of the oil of Azerbaijan.” Everyone who has been interested in the history of Azerbaijan oil know well that our oil is the most qualitative oil in the world.90% of the oil used in the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945 was  namely oil of Azerbaijan. No one has ever denied the great role of our oil in gaining victory in that war”.
