11 July 2005 [08:29] - TODAY.AZ
The working groups will be established to expand the relations in the energy sphere, Marlen Asgarov, the chief engineer of the joint stock company, told Trend.
The resolution was made at the results of the meeting of Etibar Pirverdiyev, the president of the Azerenerji JSC, with Nika Gilauri, the Georgian Fuel and Energy Minister, visited Baku.

“We discussed the prospects and directions of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The working groups will develop the proposals in this direction, reflecting resumption of energy exchange. Energy exchange does not exist between two countries due to absence of an appropriate agreement,” Asgarov said.

A Georgian delegation led by Gilauri also held meetings with Madjid Karimov, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy, where they discussed gas delivery to Tbilisi from ‘Shah-Daniz’.

In compliance with the contract Georgia can receive 800 million cub m gas a year.
