Azerbaijan's Qarabag FC defeated Ukraine's Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 1-0 in the third group stage game of UEFA Europa League in Kiev.

Qarabag FC's striker Muarem Muarem accomplished a blistering counter attack with a goal in the 21st minute of the game. Driving into the box from the left flank, Muarem curled the ball into the far corner to score the winning goal.

The game was a milestone for Gurban Gurbanov`s side as they made a history to win a game in a UEFA Europa League group stage game as the first Azerbaijani football club.

Qarabag Fc's Manager Gurbanov said the game was one of the hardest one his side played ever. "We deserved the victory. Unfortunately, the stadium was not full of our fans. If they were, the game would be more interesting," he noted.

He added that he is now thinking of the game with Dnipro in Baku. "Dnipro will ,of course, get ready for next game. That's why we should concentrate on the return game," Gurbanov said.

Qarabag FC is now the runner-up with four points in Group F behind the Italian FC Internazionale which is the group leader with seven points after a goalless draw with French Saint-Etienne. The French club is third with three points, while Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is the group's outsider with one point.

Qarabag FC will lock horns with its Ukrainian rival in the fourth group stage game in Baku on November 6.
