Galib Aliyev becomes European champion defeating Armenian rival

The European wrestling championship runs in Croatian Zagreb and Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers  won two gold and one bronze awards on the 2nd day.

Galib Aliyev (55 kg) reached the final by beating opponents from Ukraine, Bulgaria and Russia. In the final, he beat Armenian representative Artak Hovanissian and became the European champion.

Ali Magomedabirov (120 kg) reached the final by beating opponents from Hungary, Turkey and Ukraine. In the decisive fight the Azerbaijani sportsman beat Vitaliy Gagiyev of Russia and became the European champion.

Parviz Akhundov (84 kg) reached the semifinal where he lost but in the fight for the third place he beat Mikhael Bodnar of Slovakia and won bronze.
