"Reducing emergency situations and assess risks" workshop held in Baku

The Fovgal Association of Azerbaijan and Great Britain`s humanitarian organization Oxfam arranged a workshop titled “Risk reduction and emergency assessment” for media representatives in Azerbaijan Media Center, Baku.

Association`s chairman Hebib Ocagov noted that the aim of the seminar is to inform media bodies on risk reduction and emergency assessment, as well as rise public awareness.

Speakers underlined that the rapid increase of natural disasters worldwide expands their social economical after-effects year by year. Azerbaijan`s territory is in the seismically active zone and there is need to improve preventive actions in emergency situations.

Importance of public awareness how to act in emergency situations was stressed in the event.
