Strong winds cause serious damage to Goychay region of Azerbaijan

Nearly 30 trees and roof of 50 private houses and 10 buildings collapsed as a result of wind storming on February 6.

It caused serious damages on some buildings in central part of the region, including schools, kindergartens and medical points, as well as damages on electric and communication lines in some areas.

500-kW Absheron-1 open-wire line’s iron pole in Mirzahuseynli village of the region collapsed, four power transformers and nearly 20 poles were seriously damaged. The natural disaster left 60% of population of the region without electric power. Now emergency forces are working in the region to eliminate the results of the natural disaster.
