Some 99 percent of pension payments made by plastic cards in Azerbaijan

As of Jan.1, 2011, 98% of labor pensioners living in rural areas of Azerbaijan, receive pensions via plastic cards, while in cities this figure hits100%, the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) said today.

"In general, 99 percent of pension payments are made by plastic cards in Azerbaijan," the fund said.

The country has installed 497 ATMs, including 113 - in villages and settlements of the country. In 2010, the number of persons receiving pensions via plastic cards increased by 10,363 people.
