Azerbaijani Supreme Court rejects imprisoned bloggers ' appeal

The Azerbaijani Supreme Court did not cancel the Sabayel district court's decision on the bloggers, Lawyer Isakhan Ashurov told Trend. Milli and Hajizade were accused of Article 221.2.1 (On Hooliganism) and Article 127.2.3 (deliberately causing minor harm) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

The Baku Sabayel District Court sentenced Milli to two years and six months in prison and Adnan Hajizadeh to two years in prison Nov. 11. Earlier, the Baku Appeal Court regarded the appeal groundless and did not grant it keeping the first instance's decision in force.
