Azerbaijani Transport Ministry restores roads damaged by landslides

About 35 cars with building supplies were unloaded to reinforce coastal strip of the Kur River after mudslides. Another 60 wagons are awaiting, the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry reported. Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov personally monitored the implementation of these activities.

The ministry laid the path for water drainage under the Baku-Astara Railway at 51-52 kilomters of the Osmanli-Azadkend stage to protect several villages in the Sabirabad region. As a result, trains along the Baku-Astara route were stopped. Movement along the Shirvan-Imishli route still continues.

Azeryolservis has sent more than 300 vehicles with materials to prevent floods and landslides. The ministry laid 18 kilomteres of road in the direction of Pada due to the flooding of the the Salyan-Sabirabad Road. The ministry is also continuing reconstruction work on the Mughanli-Ismayilli and Guba-Khinalig highways.
