Indian ambassador to Azerbaijan Debath Show tripped to country’s Tovuz region upon the invitation of MP Ganira Pashayeva on March 25.
During the visit, the Indian diplomat said that India's position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unchanged and his country supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and hopes for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The Ambassador was shown a map which depicts the process of forced separation of parts of Azerbaijan and joining them to other countries in the course of thousands of years.

The ambassador met with head of the Tovuz Region Administration Tofiq Ismayilov. The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India.

Show noted at a meeting that Azerbaijan is very important for his country.

A broad relationship can be built not only in oil sector, but in others, particularly in the areas of agriculture and animal husbandry, the ambassador said.

Azerbaijani MP Pashayeva noted importance of building fraternal relations between Tovuz and some of the Indian cities.

"This will enhance the relations between Azerbaijan and India. Citizens of both countries will learn more of each other and this will give impetus to development of economy, culture and tourism of both countries.”

Later the ambassador visited the villages of Tovuz bordering with Armenia. During a visit to the Alibayli village, the ambassador was shown a house and school building damaged as a result of firing by the Armenian armed forces.

The Indian envoy was informed that frequent violations of the ceasefire by the Armenian armed forces disrupt normal lives of people and prevents them from engaging in agriculture.

After talking with residents injured in the shootings, the ambassador received extensive information about the unbearable situation in which they live.

Agdam village was visited as well. It should be noted Armenian army violated the ceasefire in the front line several minutes before the visit.

MP Pashayeva informed the diplomat about ruined village cemetery. It was said that the cemetery is subjected to regular shelling by Armenian armed forces and, as a result, local residents cannot visit and bury the dead villagers.

The Indian ambassador also visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum to get acquainted with photographs that display Heydar Aliyev’s activities.

Debnat Shaw left his remarks in the guest book of the museum.
