An international seminar of British Council “Right steps to success” was held in Turkey. Representatives from Azerbaijan were also present at the event.

As was reported by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, the information on events taking place in Azerbaijan to improve the professionalism of teachers of English language was given out, as well as some information on the joint projects with British Council.
“It was noted that in Azerbaijan, new Curriculum on the subject “English language” was developed for primary classes, and a new set of textbooks was prepared for these classes, in the future this process will continue”, - was said in the report.
During the a new project “Right steps to success” was presented which, will start in May 2010 in 16 countries in South-Eastern Europe, including Azerbaijan.
“The project aims at imparting specific skills to the students of the last education year, who study for the degree of “English language teacher” and raising the level of professionalism for teachers with 5 years teaching experience. This project will cover 900 students and 1000 teachers of Azerbaijan”, - was said in the report.
