Over 2.7 million sq meters of area demined in Azerbaijan in Sept.

Some 2, 710, 014 sq. m. of area was cleared from mines and unexploded ammunition in September, 2009.
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) revealed and detonated 10, 900 unexploded ammunition and mines in this territory, the ANAMA told Trend News on Oct.5.

Some 425 specialists, 115 assistant staff, 5 mechanized mine clearing cars and 30 mine detector dogs took part in it.

So far, 112, 975, 482 sq. m. of area was demined and 488, 507unexploded ammunitions were detonated.

The ANAMA carries out mine sweep in Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa and Tovuz regions of Azerbaijan and in Garadagh region of Baku.

In September, two cases of unexploded ordinances were fixed.
